Needing Attention

I've been away from home a lot lately and when that happens, some things have to be put on hold and rather neglected. This cardigan I'm making has waited patiently for me and I will resume the clicking of needles very soon. Here's the stage it is at the moment. I've completed the back and have started the left front panel.

Other poor neglected things are my lettuces...
lol ! ...yes I've never seen lettuces like this before either! I don't think I'll be eating them any time soon. ;)

Poor things, we've had a lot of hot sun and I haven't been around to water them!

However, my paintings are very slowly emerging.

They actually often improve by periods of time away from them. It gives me time to see them with fresh eyes.

Plenty more to do to them, I shall keep you posted with their progress :)

Oh dear, poor lettuces, how will they shine in your salad now? LOL!! I know exactly what you mean about coming home to see things neglected. The last time we visited my parents, we came home to a puddle in the middle of the kitchen from a huge leak on the ceiling. Ugh.

Anyway, your paintings are beautiful! I'd really like to see the left one up close! :)

Your paintings look great already, the red head with the white starry flowers has great colour combinations, your work looks so good on canvas, love all the details and shades, xx

it looks like you have rocket there, instead of lettuce.
your canvases look wonderful! are you using oils or acrylics? i haven't been familiar with either for many years.
your colour choices are always spot on.
the cardigan is a lovely blue too.

Oh dear - they poor lettuces do look a little sad. I just love your two paintings. The blue girl is stunning - I love the background with the faded colours very interesting.
Hi Jess,
love your paintings on canvas - especially the girl with the red hair.

Thanks so much Tam!

Thanks Robin, yes those lettuces make me laugh every time I look at them. I'll plant some more when I get some time.

Thanks Micki!

Thanks Amalia, that particular painting needs lots of changes so I'm sure I'll do a proper close up when it's reached a better stage. :)

Thanks so much Renilde, you know what it's like though don't you? We have to be happy with it ourselves. :)

Thanks Dorothy, yes someone else said it looked like rocket when i posted a picture of it on Facebook. It's definitely lettuce on the seed packet! It's acrylic by the way. :)

Oh thankyou so much Fluff! There's always time..? :)

Thankyou Clare that's very kind. :)

Thankyou Lindy!

Life is going so incredibly fast ! It is difficult to keep up with it all. But you have some amazing things going. I hope your schedule slows down a little so you can give them the attention they need !
I am totally in love with the way your lady's skirt is morphing into the background...so beautiful !
Have a good rest of the week, Busy One !
